June 2024 Retreat Info

Setting:

The exact address will be provided shortly before the retreat to paid registrants to ensure privacy and safety.

Per our June 2024 venue host, we will be retreating to a "charming log cabin, nestled amidst the trees of Columbia, NJ. Experience the peace and quiet of nature as you relax in the cozy living room, cook meals in the well-equipped kitchen, or play games in the gaming room. After a long day of exploring, unwind in the private backyard with a fire pit and hot tub."

Venue includes free high-speed WiFi.

Travel:

The venue is located almost equal distances from both NYC (~1.5 hours) and Philadelphia (~2 hours)by car in north NJ, near the Delaware Water Gap.

Even if it is a bit of a trek to get here, we are betting that it will still be worth it to join us in this warm, restful, secluded space vetted for deluxe cozy vibes, privacy, and hot tub access…).  While every effort was made to avoid the most common size-exclusionary features in a venue (no spindly barstools or tight-armed dining room chairs need apply...), we recognize that more accommodation options are always better, and would welcome your specific feedback for desired features (elevators, step-less entry, etc.) for future sites.

Parking: Our hosting venue can accommodate up to six cars. We will work together on travel options to make sure everyone can show up safely with as little stress possible!

Sleeping & Eating

Sleeping arrangements: This retreat is modeled on the intimacy of a best friends' group getaway, meaning the tone of the weekend is more of a slumber party than a hotel.  The base price of the event includes as its default a shared room with a luxury double air bed (weight rating of 600 pounds).  Our venue has multiple options for accommodations, and you'll be able to select the one best for you at the final step of registration.  Private room options are limited.

Shared cooking: Many hands make light work!  We’ll divvy up meal prep, cooking, and dishes.  (Don’t worry - we’re talking very user-friendly food.)

Who Will Be There?

This is intentionally a very small retreat - you’ll be staying with no more than 8-12 folks, yourself included.  Our hope is that this will facilitate deeper connection, allow for everyone to feel seen and supported, and still leave space to take a break if overwhelmed.

Group Respect Commitments

To establish a foundation for our time together, we will collaborate on commitments for the following:

  • Confidentiality

  • Respectful communication & language

  • Acknowledging judgments and turning to curiosity

  • Boundaries and consent

  • Mindful participation & self-care

  • Accountability & growth

  • Intersectionality & diversity of experience

  • Gratitude & appreciation
