Get ready, because this fall we are headed to Fat Joy Jubilee: an all inclusive weekend retreat in the Poconos created to celebrate the subversive joy that comes pinned to our rejection of anti-fat bias.

Fat Joy Jubilee is a space to advance body liberation, and to cultivate fellowship.  The in-person retreat will be preceded by multiple opportunities to get to know both myself and your fellow attendees, including 3 virtual workshops on restoring body trust and lifetime access to a private Facebook community for participants to access resources, share updates, and enhance their sense of connection.

Time & Location:

Sep 26, 2026, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

BirchTree Bread Company, 138 Green St #5, Worcester, MA 01604, USA

What to Expect:

Event details:

  • In-person meet-up (likely BirchTree Bread Company in Worcester)

  • 9/26/26 (Repeats ~1x/monthly on a Saturday morning)

  • Free (let's show some love to BirchTree while we're there!)

What to expect:

Come enjoy a cup of tea and a scone (or whatever you want…) at our once-monthly book club! Each month we’ll come together to chat about the previously selected book in an open peer-led discussion. Come help create and enjoy a space where all can feel seen and heard just as they are.

The next three books we’ll be talking about are “You Just Need to Lose Weight," "The Body is Not an Apology," and "Reclaiming Body Trust." What would you like to dive into next?

Meet your host:

Chelsea Hall is a licensed clinical social worker with nearly a decade of experience supporting clients navigating weight stigma & eating disorder recovery. Chelsea hopes that by facilitating these types of  supportive non-clinical spaces, we can work to undermine the systems and beliefs that keep diet culture big business, and keep all of us less connected to one another and to our own bodies.

** Book club meetings are not a psychotherapy group and should not be thought of as a substitute for mental health services. Given that material discussed may bring up discomfort, each participant is encouraged to consider whether additional supports may make their participation in the meeting more effective.  Fat Joy Jubilee is happy to provide referrals for many incredible therapists, Registered Dietitians, and other anti-diet professionals as needed.**
